Welcome......
Welcome to Wigan Parish Church This historic and beautiful building is a living centre of worship situated at the heart of our town, and we invite you to experience part of the life here. Architecturally, it is a Grade 2* Listed building, and we have recently completed a period of restoration with the support of English Heritage and the Historic Churches Preservation Trust.
We hope that our church is a place where people of every age and stage of faith can find acceptance, the discovery of God's presence and real help with their life's journey.
The main Sunday service is at 9.30am and we use Order 1 from Common Worship, together with the new Common Lectionary. We try to mix traditional hymns and the best of the modern ones. Each Sunday evening we maintain a tradition of Sung Evensong.
The Parish Church's ministry to the town is one we take seriously, so please contact us if there is any way we can help. In addition to service times, the church is open to visitors on each Saturday from May to September from 10.30am - 2.30pm, and we are trying to open more during the week. We are a member of the Open Churches Trust.
The church has strong civic links and among other occasions is host to the official service of remembrance each November.
We are committed to the ecumenical life and are members of the local ecumenical partnership.
The parish has had a close relationship with the Deanery High School it's foundation following on from All Saints School. The Deanery High School is now a large and popular Church of England Aided School.
Wigan is a town which is changing rapidly after the decline of the coal and cotton industries. The Council is committed to developing the town and making the borough an attractive place in which to live and work. We endeavour to play our part in making this happen.
